Bright Dog Red will return to Spectrum NYC on January 27, 2017 at 8:30 PM. The engagement marks the band’s third appearance at the Lower East Side venue, a haven for new and experimental music.
In January of 2016, BDR kicked off Spectrum’s Friday Night Prog Series to a standing room only crowd. That appearance marked the beginning of a busy 2016 schedule, one that included stops at ShapeShifter Lab, Berklee College of Music, Lilypad at Inman, and the O+ Festival in Kingston, NY, among other notable venues. BDR returned to Spectrum in November of 2016 for their final date of the year, presenting two sets of psychedelia infused jazz and hip hop. It seems only fitting that the band would kick off its 2017 itinerary at the hospitable venue.
Spectrum is a technology-intensive music/performance venue and art gallery. It mission is (1) to support innovation and virtuosity in the arts and (2) to foster conversation around ideas, culture and current social / political issues.
