Bright Dog Red, an improvising quintet from Albany, NY, will make its Boston debut on June 3, 2016. After performing a number of high profile dates in New York, Bright Dog Red heads to Massachusetts to perform three gigs in 24 hours time.
The first engagement, a performance workshop at the Berklee College of Music, will be part of the Association for Popular Music Education’s (APME) annual conference. This event is open to APME attendees including members of the Berklee community.
Later that evening, Bright Dog Red will take its unique brand of fusion, aptly described by Don Lucoff of DL Media as “Electric Ahmad” reminiscent of “Mahavishnu Orchestra,” to Lilypad at Inman in nearby Cambridge, MA. Doors open for that event at 7:30 PM. The performance is open to the general public. Admission is $10.00.
The next morning, on June 4, 2016, Bright Dog Red will return to Berklee to perform a brief set, kicking off the final day of the APME conference.
